Hopefully, by reading this document, you understand how to prepare for the applications, and how to be successful in them.
Here are some general tips that might help:
- You will be rejected. I lost track of how many companies I got rejected by, and it is totally normal. However, you must not sulk but instead, learn from your mistakes and where you could have performed better. You can also email them and ask for feedback, they will be happy to give feedback where they can.
- Use LinkedIn. Connect with current degree apprentices, ask them what they like about the company, their tips, and more. Networking is so important, so the earlier you start, the better, and it will give you an edge against other applicants.
- Make sure to read the course the program is aligned to, and not just the company. Oftentimes, many people do not check out the modules and the university, as they are just attracted by the company name. However, it is important to understand what you are actually going to be studying, and if that is something you would like. Also, check out the university, and some programmes will allow you to join student union clubs, and more, just like a regular university student, so it is important you check out what university it is and if that aligns with you.
Thank you for reading, and I wish you all the best in your applications - Ayoub Gutin.
